I wish I had gotten one BEFORE Hurricane Katrina. As a first responder I stayed in New Orleans the whole time and it was 4 weeks before we got electricity back in the French Quarter. Having this inverter would have made the whole ordeal go a lot more smoothly. I could have kept all of our emergency communications equipment charged up and running just by tapping into the cigarette lighter.

I changed my transmission fluid with 44,000miles on the vehicle. I had 0 issues prior to change. After changing to this product shifts between 1st and 2nd gear where hard. I drove it 100 miles, changed back to NEW OEM non-synthetic fluid and returned to shifting fluid/flawlessly. Perhaps the transmission of my vehicle is very sensitive, as I know many people swear by this product. I won't use again.

(More customer reviews)This unit is pretty cool in concept and OK but not great in reality.Overall, it's a fairly decent unit.However, I found that the lower drawer was frustrating to open.The all-plastic construction with no drawer slides made it sort of stick.If there was any weight from above, the door would jam and be even harder to open.

Aside from that, a pretty good unit.But don't expect to be able to pound on this thing for years to come.My son is eyeing it pretty heavily for organizing his legos.A perfect application for this unit.

This one has earned my trust after stopping the gear-grinding caused by the well-advertised and uber-marketed "purple" competitor (Amazon doesn't allow Brand-naming/shaming). Whatever choice you make, please beware of "Made in China" synthetics where lax controls allow unscrupulous manufacturers to doctor their products. On those products you'll notice the bold print: Distributed by US Distributor; the fine print (requiring on-line research) reveals: Made-in-China. This manufacturer, incidentally, holds himself accountable to US regulation and oversight.

(More customer reviews)A good oil will just work. It will lubricate and protect. Most oil manufacturers create various grades of oils using different bases and techniques and they produce products that will do the job.

A fantastic oil will go beyond and Royal Purple does exactly that.

I am not an expert but I do know a thing or two about automotive mechanics. The area of lubrication fascinates me and from what I see on the internet, it fascinates many others as well.This is delightful as I was beginning to think that I was a freak! Perhaps I am and perhaps all of us are. Is it so bad to want what's best for your ki.......cars? Your cars! Yeah that's it, yeaaaah. Seee.

After building a supercharged vehicle, I became obsessed with making sure it was running in top shape. It was at the time, my only means of transportation. I started using Mobil 1 synthetic right away and for years, there was no problem. Mobil 1 is a perfect example of a good oil. It did it's job. I've always known about these so-called "high performance" engine oils out there such as Redline, Motul, AMSoil and Royal Purple. I figured that they were all just gimmicks because really, oil is oil right? Well I was wrong.

While shopping in Walmart, I noticed that they had cases of Royal Purple 10w30 for sale.I was there to pick up a case of Mobil 1 but the royal purple was there and it was only a few dollars more expensive. I figured, "why the hell not?". I brought it home and the next day, I changed my car's oil from Mobil 1 to Royal Purple.Now I forgot to mention that my oil changes, which I obviously do myself, happened every 3000-5000 miles and that I change the filter, every time. You can never be too careful with a forced induction car that wasn't meant to be forced to begin with.

Well when I started her up, I IMMEDIATELY noticed that there was a difference.What I noticed was quiet! Then I noticed how smooth the engine was running. It was just plain old special. After warming up I took her for a spin because that's what we do when we try new oils :).The butt-dyno was definitely telling me that the car was faster. She was definitely running stronger and smoother.

A few months ago, I decided to go back to Mobil 1 due to their formula changing (so I read).I wanted to give it another shot. After all was said and done, I went from a "fantastic oil" (Royal Purple)back to a "good oil" (Mobil 1)
Even though I knew I did not need to do it, I quickly swapped it out for some fresh new Purple :)

I tried using it in my little CRF150RB dirt bike but I didn't notice any differences.That bike is like a little bat outta hell. It does however, make a nice difference in my scooter. It is again, smoother, quieter and more powerful and with a scooter, every little bit helps.

In conclusion, in my personal experience and opinion, Royal Purple is just far beyond anything else that I've used.Info:

AMSOil-Too happy to care
Motul -Having too much fun to give a rip
Royal Purple-Noticeable gains in yeeehawww but not with oil

Scooter: 10w30-10w40

Mobil 1 -Noticeable gain in speed, lower temperatures, and longer viscosity life over petroleum-based oil
Motul semi-Similar to Mobil 1
Motul ester -Similar to Mobil 1
Motul double-Slower more sluggish at first but once oil is HOT, performs exceptionally better than Motul or Mobil 1
Royal Purple-Performs similar to Motul double ester but seems to keep viscosity longer and has a quicker "warm-up"
AMSOil-AMSOil is also a fantastic oil however, it is in my opinion, slightly less than Royal Purple.It does the job well and keeps it's viscosity for a long time but it does so at a higher cost.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product with the intention of using it for charging my laptop while on the road. According to the product's spec sheet, it is rated to supply 140-watts of continuous power (and 150-watts peak) and it is marketed as being a suitable power supply for laptops. Unfortunately, when I plugged my laptop (which uses a 90-watt charger) in to the unit it would overload and trip the surge protection after a few seconds.I was thoroughly unamused.

Additionally, I found this nugget from a review on Newegg:
"The problem with this unit is that neither the hot or the neutral plug on the unit are referenced to ground. In other words, the neutral actually has a potential of 60v above ground. This can lead to some shocking situations. The ground leg of the inverter is just a dummy hole -- there is no actual ground.

In layman's terms, the electrical design of this unit is very poor and would never achieve household electrical standards. I can't figure out how they are allowed to manufacture and sell this unit especially when they advertise it for use with laptops."

And upon further inspection, I can confirm that this is accurate, which could possibly be the reason why my laptop charger overloads the unit despite the fact that the unit is supposed to be able to supply 140-watts continuously.

This unit does seem to work well for small electronic devices, but I cannot recommend this unit for any electrical device that draws much power or uses a 3-prong connector.

(More customer reviews)I got this to use while we were on our camping vacation.It worked great! We've had it for about 8 months now. It's MUCH cheaper than the competator's prepaid mobile broadband (Verizon currently the only other company to offer prepaid mobile broadband) and we're not stuck paying for a monthly contract.

Virgin Mobile=twenty bucks for 250 mb, expires in 30 days.Verizon=thirty bucks for 250 mb, expires in 30 days.

Set up was fairly easy. Whenever we take road trips or whatever, we just put $20 on this thing and it's enough for us all (me, hubby and 2 teens) to check our Facebooks, MySpaces, and emails two or three times a day for a couple days. Another plus: There's a slot for a micro SD card so it doubles as a junk drive.Whenever you think you need more data, you can add more money just by plugging it in because it will automatically pull up your account on the Virgin Mobile website so you can see how many megabytes you have left and if you're on the virgin mobile website, it doesn't use up your megabytes.

Signal strength was pretty good.It's not cost effective if you're a heavy internet user, but for on-the-go portable internet, I think it's great.If we don't roadtrip for awhile, it goes in a drawer and collects dust until whenever we hit the road again, and all we do is put $20 on it to start off and we're all set.

Only thing I'd change maybe is to let the megabytes roll over.Maybe that will be something available one day.

***ALSO:One night our cable internet went out and I was able to plug this thing in and use in a pinch so the kids could finish their online research for homework while I sat on the phone with Time Warner Cable for 4 hours trying to figure out what happened to our regular internet service.Then we had to wait for 3 days for a technician to come out to our home to fix our regular internet and during those 3 days, this wireless usb card was our internet savior! I LOVE THIS THING!

(More customer reviews)Some people don't know the details about power supplies like this. This one requires a long answer.

The PowerSource will provide about 45 Watt Hours. It has a limit of 60 watts from the battery and 80 watts from the 12 volt input. It has a 100 Watt surge limit for a short time.

Translation: the run time depends on your computer and the existing charge level when you plug it in to the PowerSource.

If your laptop batteries are run down, the PowerSource probably will NOT operate it.
If you remove the batteries it may work. It may also work to charge with the laptop off.
If you run it with the 12 volt input it may operate your laptop.

The reason for this is; your laptop uses twice as much power to run if it charges the batteries at the same time.

It will work, if you plug the laptop into the PowerSource before you run down the batteries.

I tested my HP dual core laptop watching movies over the WIFI link. It ran 1 hour and 35 minutes on the PowerSource then 2 and a half hour on its own batteries. Same test, next day, same results.

This would be 4 hours on an airline flight. It will power a Zune or IPod for a long time.
The more powerful the laptop, the shorter the battery life. Your mileage may vary.

It includes a special plug that work on some airlines power jacks.

Many smart phones use a specially wired charger to charge from the wall and will only charge from a computer IF the computer has a data connection to the smart phone. A different USB cable will not help, unless it is wired special. A cheat that works on some Smart Phones is to plug it in then reboot the smart phone.

(More customer reviews)Im runnig this oil in 4 cars, before I was using Mobil 1 extended performance but their quality has gone down lately so I switch to this and gave it a try. So far Im very happy with the oil, engine runs very smooth and it seems more responsive. Only thing is that here on amazon is more expensive. My friend got me the 4 jugs (5qts each) for $26.50 each at walmart. Thats almost twice the price for just 1 more quart.

So by the time you buy 30qts from amazon you have spend $249.75 +tax and only $159 +tax at walmart thats $90 you can save and use to buy some high quality oil filter for you cars or something else it might need, trust me your car (and wallet) will thank you.

Targus PAPWR005U Mobile Power Inverter Review

(More customer reviews)I successfully used the Targus PAPWR005U power inverter on a 400+ mile trip to power my Mac PowerBook G4 (to watch DVDs) with the kids. Unfortunately it only made the one trip. The next week, on another 400+ mi car ride, the inverter started beeping constantly and then went into shutdown mode, I'm assuming because it was drawing too much power and was overheating. At 90 Watts, the power output matched the power draw from the Mac PowerBook, but didn't have enough umph to spare. I'd caution everyone to check the power rating on their laptop power bricks first before using it with a power inverter. Get an inverter that is at least 1.5-2x the power rating of the device you want to use.

Once I got it back off (with some difficulty) I was afraid that if I ever wanted to take it off my vent again that I break something in the process (either this device or my vent).
