(More customer reviews)We've used it with lack luster results. Royal Purple is nothing more than another synthetic oil that makes people FEEL GOOD. And if spending triple the amount of money for a quart makes you feel good? Then it is doing its job.
The best oil available believe it or not is KENDALL motor oil. Hands down. Been around for decades and decades. No you will not see commercials or silly demonstrations in controlled environments like the impostor lubricants. It is not necessary. Kendall works the best and it shows results in the real world. How would you like to have an engine that strictly used Kendall its entire life without any wear to the main bearings even after 300K miles?
Well that is what we found on my Dad's '67 International V8 recently.
Buy hype or buy right. It is always YOUR choice!
One more little tidbit - You know those NASCAR races with oil advertisements like Valvoline and Quaker State? Don't be fooled, those race car owners never put that crap into their $100+K engines. Take it from a pit member. That is strictly for $ from advertisers. That is all. Many race car owners use Kendall nitro 70. Think about it, when your turning 11,000 RPM - you better know what motor oil to use...

The filter does use a plastic bypass valve similar to the Fram filter, however I could not make this one leak.It is also held in place by a steel clip rather than plastic tabs like the Fram.

They insisted we offer an oil filter that corrected the headaches they experienced over the years changing oil filters.We have all been there: Whether it's remembering where that disappearing canister tool is; or having oil leak all over your garage and yourself; or finally giving up and pounding a screwdriver through the filter just to get if off. Each of our automotive and marine oil filters comes with a 1 nut welded to the top of the canister so they can be easily wrenched-off with a standard tool. Our motorcycle and ATV oil filters come with a 17 mm nut. Our oil filters use resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration. High filter flow rates are important in racing vehicles where heavier grade oil is used and the oil is pumped much faster than in a standard vehicle. When the engine is circulating oil at high GPM rates, the high-flow oil filter helps reduce the loss of pressure through the filtering process. FRAM PK1 AirHog Filter Oil and Cleaner Kit Review

(More customer reviews)I haven't used mine yet as I just got my AirHog filter.I had never heard of this filter but it was far cheaper then a K&N yet looks the SAME other then the color of Orange instead of Red. I've Cleaned a few K&N filters in the past with the K&N cleaner/Oil Kit.This is the same thing.The whole cleaning process can take a long time.You have to remove the dirty filter,Then Spray the Cleaner all around the filter.Then you have to let it sit there for like 15 minutes.Then you have to rinse it out backwards.Since dirt goes in from the outside in, you want to wash out inside out, as to not force the dirt into the filter deeper.After it's all clean, you might have to do it a second time if it's really dirty.After that, it's all wet.Well you now have to let it Air Dry ALL THE WAY.This can take quite some time depending on the Temp!!!You don't want to blow pressurized Air though it to speed up the process, you can screw up the filter doing that, and it can't be wet, not even a little bit!!!After it's fully dry, then it needs to be oiled!If you don't oil it, it will NOT filter very good!!!So it's Important that it's done.You need to spay just enough to get it wet and then let it soak in for like 15 minutes, then check and make sure you didn't miss anyplace.You can tell by the color change!!!You don't want oil ruining down out of the filter.If you put to much oil into the filter, it can end up being sucked up into the engine, which in the process put oil all over your Mass Air Flow Sensor that's in the Intake Tube. This can screw up your Engine as your engine could get false readings.So do the job RIGHT!!!

K&N HP-7011 Oil Filter Review

(More customer reviews)I've been changing my own oil on my Porsche for 10 years.I don't feel this item is constructed as good as the OEM/Mahle, but it does appear adequate.In the future, if convenient, I will try to get OEM ones from Porsche online dealers such as Sunset in Oregon.This item, as pictured, does come with an O-ring, which seems to fit comparable to OEM.I will update if I encounter any issues, but I doubt there will be any.

What Amazon offers is a real convenience over getting one from your local "stealer".Additionally, Amazon has a broad selection of quality synthetic oils available for delivery, further increasing the convenience.Since I am a PRIME member, I can basically get a DIY oil-change kit in 2 days without any hassle.This is probably worth an extra star.

One final note is that I would order the oil and filter separately.Amazon often has terrible packing of heavy and light items together.In this case, the oil filter even shipped separately in its own flimsy wrap-around box, which was crushed.The K&N box was also squashed, but the filter appeared to be OK.Amazon shipping was probably thinking this was a steel-can oil filter.So, I took back that extra star for packaging.

(More customer reviews)OK, I am not a filter expert, and I don't know if this is as good as the filters that Honda service sells, but other web posters have commented on lower quality in some recent versions (e.g A02) of the Honda filters for CR-V. I have read that Bosch and MANN+HUMMEL bought Purolator Filter in 2006, so this filter may be similar to Purolator Filters.

With Full synthetic filter can go 7500miles or 6 months. I personally use Valvoline Synpower(5w30) with WIX and change oil once a year and change my WIX filter twice.

There is only one oil and filter in my opinion better but cost 2 to 3 times more. Amsoil and Amsoil EA filters, combo works for 1 year or 25,000miles.

(More customer reviews)I only use AC Delco filters in my truck. AC Delco makes the best oil filters. Amazon provides a good price, but more importantly, it saves me a trip to the dealer. I live in Washington state, and there is some tax insanity that states that since AC Delco does not have a distribution center in Washington, they can only sell through dealers. You cannot buy AC Delco filters at retail stores in Washington. I avoid automobile dealers when ever possible. Thank you Amazon for letting me avoid the dealer.
