(More customer reviews)Of course, you have the K&N name.Honestly, it's not like I can tell if the K&N oil filter filters oil better than another oil filter. But get this one any, if for no other reason than the fact that there's a hex protrusion on the end so you can remove it with a socket wrench when it's time to change.

I had a Fram on there before, and it was fine. But when it came time to take it off, I tried using an oil filter wrench, which just slipped constantly and the filter never budged (I think something had hit the filter at some point as there was a small dent on it, which probably caused the slippage).Then I pulled out the strap wrench, which BROKE before I could get the filter off.That's right, I broke the strap on a strap wrench!

With the K&N's, it's a simple matter of breaking out the socket wrench.So easy.It's worth a couple extra bucks just for that.

Look around though, if the price seems high.I paid about $7.50 for mine at a local bike shop.

Lisle 50750 Oil Filter Pliers Review

Sometimes I think I should do it myself.
Sometimes I am an idiot.
What took me about 45 minutes the last time, took about 3 hours today.
The oil filter would not come off.
Piece of expletive end cap wrench slipped even with tape inside for contact.
Jammed a screwdriver through for leverage only to dump half a quart of oil everywhere.
The screwdriver just ripped open the filter instead of turning it.
Nice, now I'm mad.
Luckily, my wife came home early from work.
We went to the F&F and I picked up this wrench, just because it looked evil enough to get that expletive filter off my truck!
It did.
One minute after I got the Lisle 50750 out of it's package,
my filter was off.
Thank God.

K&N KN-303 Oil Filter Review

(More customer reviews)The KN-303 filter is what is used on my 2005 Yamaha R1.The filter has a 17mm lug on the top, which makes installation really easy.There is limited space between the filter and the headers, so being able to use an end wrench to install it is very nice.This saves having to have a special filter wrench for the OEM style filters.It also has a little hole where you can safety wire it for when you go to the track.Very nice filter.

OEM 25404 Oil Filter F Cap Wrench 65/67mm Review

(More customer reviews)Just a heads-up if you are considering buying this filter wrench for late model Toyotas - think again. If you have a cartridge type filter get the better wrench. You can make out four small spot welds in the photo directly in the center. Trust me they are not strong enough if some gorilla tightened the filter housing the last time. The welds break very easily. If you do your own oil changes and have brains enough to lube the gasket and not overtighten the filter go for it. Again, if you are a professional mechanic choose a better quality tool.

(More customer reviews)I started using these on all my cars just as an insurance policy. Since I change the oil myself it comes out the same as paying someone else, but you get a great filter and better oil.
The 10 Micron Filtration spec means cleaner oil and less wear and tear. I don't have to worry about the drive train on a long trip or zipping around the city on a hot summer day, as long as I do the maintenance.

A little research brought me to the Mobil 1 Extended Performance line of Synthetic oils when searching for a product that could allow me more time between oil changes. Mobil 1 EP allows a 15,000 mile/1 year guaranteed life of the product. I have been using this in combination with their Mobil 1 filters for years. The cost is higher, but I only need to change the oil once a year!

(More customer reviews)I like the arisol can better, so i will get that again next time, but over all buying this oil in either form (arisol or squeese bottle) is much cheaper on amazon and on here you can actually get what you want to. My local stores only sell the oil and cleaner together and i go through about twice as much oil as i do cleaner.

Fram PH3600 Extra Guard Passenger Car Spin-On Oil Filter, Pack of 1 Review

(More customer reviews)I used these for awhile on my 99 Taurus... Until i did some research and found out Frams are the bottom of the barrel. They use poor filter media, cardboard endcaps where the industry standard is metal, have poor burst strength, poor flow and lack of anti-drainbackvalve.

Avoid all of these filters - Fram Extra Guard, Fram Tough Guard, Fram Double Guard, Fram High Mileage, Pennzoil, Quaker State ; They are all Honeywell and cheap.Anything is better than those.

I recommend Purolator Pure Ones if you want top performance for a not so crazy price, but the Motorcraft filters are usually Purolator pureones anyways, so go with those for your Ford. Others i recommend, Wix, Napa Gold, Carquest, AC Delco, or if you have the money the K&N and Mobil 1 filters are top choices too.

If you change your oil every 3k miles and don't drive hard they will be better than not using any filter at all, which is why i gave them an honest 2 starts, but put your hard earned money where it belongs; in a quality oil filter.

I am never putting another Fram filter on my car again!
